The Alpha Line of the Alpha Lambda Alpha chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. was initiated into the fraternity on November 17, 1995, under the guidance of Bros. Carlos Edwards and Terence Parker. The chapter received its charter on November 16, 1996. The chartering members include Ian Parker, James Jolivette, Artimus "Tim" Jones, Adrian Leday, and Gary Jerkins.
Since then, the chapter has grown to even greater heights. In its short history, more than 40 brothers have been brought into our wonderful fraternity through the Alpha Lambda Alpha chapter. This number will grow to even greater heights as we continue to exemplify the high ideals of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service that forms the foundation of Phi Beta Sigma.
The Alpha Lambda Chapter has worked tirelessly to serve Texas A&M and the Brazos County Community, establishing such programs as: Code Blue, Sigma Connection (our annual philanthropy fundraiser w/ Sigma Gamma Rho, Lambda Lambda Chapter), Real Talk, Kickin' It On the Yard, The Minority Health Symposium, as well as participating in and coordinating programs for the Boys & Girls Club of Brazos Valley, the College Station Lincoln Center, the Brazos Valley Juvenile Center, and the North Bryan Community Center.

More recently the Alpha Lambda Alpha Chapter was named the 2006-2007 Texas A&M National Pan-Hellenic Council Chapter of the year. This was the second time ALA has won the award in the past three years. Code Blue was named the 2005 Outstanding Community Service Program by the Department of Greek Life at Texas A&M University. Also, ALA received the 2006 Education Program Award for Code Blue at the 32nd Annual Gulf Coast Regional Conference.
Just this past year, the Alpha Lambda Alpha Chapter was awarded most outstanding community service program for Code Blue at the 2010 State Conference. This marks the second time ALA was recognized for this program.
